“Good morning ladies! Welcome to Ulta, where all your dreams and beauty wishes come true,” called out an Ulta employee as customers walked through the door of Reno’s newest 10,000-square-foot beauty store at its grand opening July 24.

More than 100 people lined up for the opening of the northwest Reno store located in the Ridgeview Plaza at 5110 Mae Anne Ave., Suite 601.

“This is the third store in the Reno area. northwest Reno needed it,” Christina Alexander, the Ulta manager for the Carson City store, said. “Guests have been asking for it.”

The two other locations in the area are on South Virginia Street in the Commons Shopping Center and on Los Altos Parkway in Sparks.

The new store has more than 20 employees, some of which were trained at the South Virginia location prior to grand opening.

According to Alexander, the new location is still hiring for the salon and for beauty advisors.

Ulta is the largest beauty retailer in the United States and offers more than 20,000 products from more than 550 brands.

“Ulta is all things beauty in one place,” said Alexander.

The store celebrated the grand opening with a ribbon cutting and free giveaways valued between $5 and $100 for the first three days the store was open.

“(We came out) for the free stuff and to check out the new store,” said Kristy Lish, who was standing in line with her friend Connie Rice on the day of the opening. “This store is very close to where we live,” said Rice.

Ulta Beauty has more than 720 locations in 48 states and is on track to open 100 stores per year. The company projects it will continue to increase their amount of beauty stores to 1,200 locations over the next five years.

Ulta has a rewards program, which allows customers to earn one point for each dollar they spend at Ulta. The points can be redeemed for discounts off future purchases.

One of the goals for the grand opening is to “sign up all new guests for our loyalty program,” Alexander said. “It is our way of saying thank you (to our customers) for staying loyal to Ulta.”

The new store has a 950-square-foot full salon and offers hair, skin and eyebrow services. It is open Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
