Fast appreciation in housing
The Reno-Sparks region posted the eighth-fastest appreciation of home prices in the nation during the second quarter, says the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
The federal agency, which tracks both purchases and refinance mortgages says prices appreciated 5.5 percent during the second quarter. Home prices in the region continue to recover ground lost during the financial crisis, and now stand 32 percent below their level of five years ago.
The goal is to benefit Northern Nevada’s agriculture and ranching industries by developing solutions to environmental effects created by current concentrated animal feeding operations, or CAFOs.
