Drew Skeen has been hired by Gaughan Gaming to serve as general manager of the Hotel Nevada & Gambling Hall in Ely and all other Gaughan Gaming assets in White Pine County including the hotel-casino and the adjacent Postal Palace events center, Liberty Bar along with several other smaller motels in the area.
Skeen spent the past four years as manager of the Sturgeons Inn & Casino in Lovelock. He began his career in gaming with the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas and has served in numerous roles that range from game development with Konami Gaming to executive positions with MGM Resorts International.
He served as chairman of the Pershing County Tourism Board and was largely responsible for the county’s annual negotiations with Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert. In 2013, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval appointed Skeen to serve on the state board of Registered Environmental Health Specialists.
Nathan Strong informed his staff Thursday morning, Nov. 21, of his decision to resign, effective immediately, as leader of the Churchill Economic Development Authority.
